| My
longtime love affair for South America only grew stronger with my
trip to Peru during the summer of 2001. For a few weeks that
August a couple of friends and I traveled throughout the Andean
countryside, explored the ruins of Machu Picchu, survived the
near-death experience of driving with a blinded taxi driver and
sailed the historic waters of Lake Titicaca in a traditional reed
boat. The colours of its landscape, the shy faces
of the Peruvians and the hustle and bustle of activity in the
markets were a joy to photograph and a thrill to experience.
One of these days I'll have to return. Note: These
images were scanned from slides.
